Where is denton in frost
There is a Denton near Oxford, but it's a tiny hamlet with about 20 people living in it. You'd not get very interesting murder stories from there. Hi Denton is a ficticious place although there are several in the uk. That is probably planned and is a good thing.
The location of the Vicar of Dibley is secret so you don't get loads of tourists! PG Woodhouse used a similar technique to suggest the location of Blandings Castle, but remember it is fiction Theres loads of Dentons but Frost's Denton is roughly in the M4 corridor area as in the episode "Keys to the Car" Frost has to travel to Crawley which is dquoted to be "60 miles away". I'm sure its meant to be Thames Valley or Berkshire Constabulary. The Swindon map thing is hilarious but most probably true.
I believe a lot of it has been filmed in Leeds and West Yorkshire as I have recognised some of the City Centre scenes as being Leeds itself. Once or twice Frost has driven right up to the Courthouse which you cannot do as its a Bus Lane.
I know this because I got lost in Leeds once and went into the Bus Lane and got pulled over by the local police. Ironically its the police who are allegedly killing Frost off as RD Wingfield's nephew was arrested in connection with a item being stolen and because he wasnt treated like royalty because of his uncle, Wingfield is threatening not to write anymore which I think is a shame.
In one episode can't remember which , George has some papers in his hand, on which it says "Thames Valley Police" ;-. Thames Valley police covers, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, which is a huge area. They always Denton Police.
I guess as Yorkshire made the show it's fair to say they filmed mostly up there, but the show appears to have a mostly southern feel to it, and I'm not referring specifically to David Jason, but also many of the other actors both regulars and one offs.
Funny it's one of the few shows that truly hides it's setting. Even Midsomer is pretty obviously rural parts of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It isn't a secret. It's Turville. They certainly get 'Look North' as their regional news.. I noticed in one episode that Frost was looking at some files that had Thames Valley Constabulary on them. They also mention places like Basingstoke and Reading as though they are local.
But Central is ITV. I think if you get central, you will get Midlands Today or similar. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyone live in Nottingham?? A Touch Of Frost location? Steve Pearce. Reply to author. The series is located in the mythical town of Denton which is supposed to be in the Thames Valley.
I was wondering where the series was really filmed. I noticed in episode a couple of weeks ago a restaurant called the "Milwaukee Exchange", now the Exchange chain of restaurants all have a unique city name ie.
This led the police to suspect he had something to do with the girls death. Jack's superiors, and the local community were convinced that he killed her, but Jack himself wasn't so sure. Further investigations led him to believe that the girls father, Richard Martin, was responsible.
Martin eventually confessed that he and his daughter had had an argument and she slipped on the garage floor and died as a result. He panicked and took her body to the woods to conceal it. What does Frost say out loud as he lays down flowers in her memory? Kathleen Frost died of cancer some years back, but Detective Frost only visits her grave once a year. They weren't close, he tells a fellow copper. Still he apologizes for paying so little attention to her memory.
He did bring very pretty flowers which he carefully arranges. Meanwhile viewers see a young blonde woman in the distance who appears to be following him, since we saw her earlier near his home. He glances her way but apparently, being preoccupied, makes nothing of it. Sir David Jason did lose his wife of 18 years to breast cancer in , a few years before this episode.
The investigation soon turned into a double murder. During what type of activity was the young lad killed? Nick Walder should have appeared in court the day he died. Instead he went to an anti hunt protest near to Denton Lacey. He was found, lying in the undergrowth, after being hit on the back of the head with a lump of wood. Shortly afterwards another body, that of a known anti hunt campaigner, was found in the woods after being shot with a shotgun.
Jack's investigations took him into contact with the local squire and Master of Foxhounds. Superintendent Mullet was worried that Jack may upset the local gentry. Although he has a girly name, Sandy has proved very useful to Jack. As he is the local reporter, he tends to get a lot of the gossip before the police, and will often pass news to Jack before the police has even heard about the case.
