My gaming adventures started back in '98 and I have been an avid gamer ever since.

How to turn the narrator off in Forza Horizon 5. What is Car Collection in Forza Horizon 5? How to fast travel in Forza Horizon 5. How to change your name in Forza Horizon 5. Tried it, still CTD. Got fed up, read about 1. No crashes in Concord.

Reloading a save from inside was an instant CTD about 3 times in 4 as well. I went up the floors to the roof exit door, saved, loaded the exterior cell, got in power armor, saved again. I thought I could maybe power my way through this B. Not the case, unfortunately. CTD after reaching the far end of the Vertibird where the gatling gun is seems to be tied to enemies spawning in.

Tried to get off that rooftop over and over, maybe 10 attempts. Nothing worked, could not progress, with only Horizon in the modlist. Didn't want to roll back my drivers, and was ready to uninstall at this point.

I've read a ton of threads on this issue, but only 1 comment over on the Buffout 4 thread don't even have it installed, but heard the mod referenced in a lot of places suggested running in windowed mode. And it worked. Blessed, CTD free play session that has lasted about 6 hours now, far longer than I should be playing considering my workload. I had 1 crash while running towards Sanctuary from the lake, that was repeated a second time until I tried running across the bridge instead of fording the lake.

No other crashes, but it made me leery to see any at all after all that trouble trying to fix it. I ended up downgrading my drivers to see if that worked, and wow. Full screen max settings again, no crashes at all so far. Probably not worth it if you play anything else, but I'm generally too busy and stick with 1 game at a time. Still, it's noticeably better than windowed fullscreen if you're planning to play a lot of FO4. Do NOT delete all your saves in frustration expecting a whole new troubleshooting session to fix it.

Instead, check your driver version. Apparently this is a whole other rabbit hole of forced updating of drivers without your permission. My driver version updated quietly in the background, and after no issues at all I come back a few days later to find my saves all CTD. Unfortunately, I found the problem too late, and had already started over. As I'd stated previously in an earlier post, I'd rolled back to pre drivers. It's the nvwgf2umx.

This is the only game I've played as I work a lot, so others may not consider running old drivers worth it. In all that time, I've only experienced maybe a dozen crashes in total, that occurred while switching between script-intensive Horizon windows and the primary workbench inventory.

A dozen crashes at most. Generally doctors should be your go-to as they're cheaper than the material cost of healing items, but if you have the materials you can craft bandages at both cooking stations and med stations, although higher level healing items are all crafted at the med station.

If you've crafted a Field Kit if you haven't do so - it does tons of useful stuff , you can also craft bandages and medicated bandages using your field kit, although the material costs are slightly higher. So i fixed the issue I think need to play a bit more to make sure .

It seems like playing other games might have made some problems. The fix was to go in and change settings for my speakers.

Thanks to all who reached out! Setting this to 0 disables precombines. Precombines are part of the games optimization system. Doing this is not recommended.

This setting causes various graphical issues. One of the biggest FPS - frames per second killer of all time. Can cause FPS issues. Default is 1. Sets the object fade distance. Default is 5. Low is 2. Medium is 3. High is 4. Ultra is This will restart your PC with only essential services running, allowing you to figure out the potential conflicting software. Launch the game again. Once you find out the problematic program that prevents you from accessing online servers, you may need to uninstall it to avoid running into the same issue in the future.
