Ee cummings which of a wind




















Here's one poem that marks a meditation on the season and notice how solemn and sober it is, not at all like his spring ramblings. And how much slower the tone is - he even makes use of full stops, something he very rarely does so intent are his rush-on run-on lines with fulfilling their ecstatic purpose!

It is a weary speaker though who says dejectedly here: ' I think i have known Autumn too long. Technology, usually thought of as beneficial to mankind, slowly destroying the society it was meant to help improve. Cummings uses inverted sentence structure to create a scene of chaos — the same felt in a city or town that has just been air raided.

Okay- so this is my take… ee cummings is totally predicting the future. Its kind of dark and almost pesimistic the first time through but after you read it like 20 times- you see where he was going with it.

Lines relate back to the secret that is man. The screaming hills arent hills at all- but a human. This is a poem that defentaly deals with the experience,fear, and hardships of living in a World War type of envirnment.

One question I am not sure of is if Cummings tone is positive or negative. Each line of this poem can be broken down to have something to do with the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Well, everyone in the poetry sisters except me wrote curtal sonnets, a form invented or at least made popular by…. Today is a gusty sort of autumn day, the kind that catches you by surprise, being more than 20 degrees cooler than it was yesterday, and filtering what light there is through a fine haze of spidery clouds.
